YZ Worm Valve Gearbox

- Ratio
- 34:1 – 67:1

YOYAGE valve gearboxes cover part-turn and multi-turn designs for gate, butterfly, ball, plug, and globe valves, with torque from 216 to 850,000 Nm.
Valve type decides part-turn vs multi-turn and worm / bevel / spur gearing; service conditions decide the housing material.
Manual handwheel, electric actuator (D-suffix series), or pneumatic declutchable operation.
Match torque and ratio to the valve, then verify the mounting flange and stem dimensions.
Send valve type, size, torque and stem data for a quotation, selection support or custom design.

A quick reference to the structures, gear trains, materials and service options behind the YOYAGE range.
Part-turn gearboxes rotate the valve stem through 90° and are used on butterfly, ball and plug valves. Multi-turn gearboxes drive the stem through several revolutions and are used on gate and globe valves, where the disc is lifted or lowered to open and close.
Matching the structure to the valve is the first selection decision: a quarter-turn gearbox cannot operate a gate valve, and a multi-turn gearbox does not provide the defined 90° stop a quarter-turn valve needs. YOYAGE covers both, with part-turn torque from 240 to 850,000 Nm and multi-turn models from 216 to 170,000 Nm.
The gear train sets the torque multiplication, ratio and back-driving behaviour. Worm gearboxes are self-locking and are the standard choice for quarter-turn valves; bevel gearboxes turn the drive through 90° and are common on multi-turn gate and globe valves; spur gearboxes add another reduction stage for higher torque and higher ratios.
YOYAGE supplies all three gear types in manual valve gearbox and electric valve gearbox versions; the D suffix denotes electric actuator operation. Series such as the YZ-S combine a worm and spur stage in one housing to extend torque to 850,000 Nm.
Housing material follows the service environment: ductile iron for general industrial duty, WCB cast steel for higher pressure and temperature, CF8/CF8M stainless steel for corrosive media, and LCC/LCB/LC1 low-temperature cast steel for cold service.
Protection is IP67 as standard, with IP68 available for buried or frequently flooded installations. C3 and C5 coating systems are available for outdoor, coastal and corrosive sites.
YOYAGE valve gearboxes and valve gear operator assemblies are used in water management, oil and gas, power generation and chemical processing, where reliable valve operation is required. Standard series cover 216 to 850,000 Nm across 22 part-turn and multi-turn series.
Beyond the standard range, gear ratios, handwheel and chainwheel sizes, stem bores, flange standards and materials can be adapted to the valve, and every custom design is confirmed by drawings before production. Products are torque-tested and low-temperature tested in an ISO 9001-certified plant; all products carry the CE mark.
Selection, materials, customization and quotation questions we are asked most often.
Part-turn gearboxes turn the stem 90° for butterfly, ball and plug valves; multi-turn gearboxes turn the stem through multiple revolutions for gate and globe valves. The valve type always decides the structure. See the Selection Guide.
Butterfly, ball and plug valves use part-turn gearboxes, normally worm type. Gate and globe valves use multi-turn gearboxes in worm, bevel or spur design. If the valve is a special design, send the valve data and YOYAGE will confirm the matching model.
Confirm the valve's required output torque including the safety factor, then select the series whose maximum torque is above that value and closest to it. The ratio follows the allowed manual input effort or the electric actuator's input torque. Finally check the mounting flange and stem dimensions against the valve.
Standard housings are ductile iron, with WCB cast steel, CF8/CF8M stainless steel and LCC/LCB/LC1 low-temperature steel available for other service conditions. Protection is IP67 as standard with IP68 optional, and C3 or C5 coating can be specified for outdoor and corrosive environments.
Yes. Gear ratios, handwheel and chainwheel sizes, stem bores, flange standards, housing materials and coating systems can be adapted, and every custom gearbox is confirmed by drawings before production starts. See Custom Solutions.
