Standard Customization Options for Valve Gearboxes
Routine customization is available on standard valve gearbox and gear operator models. Every custom design is confirmed by drawings before production.
Handwheel & Chainwheel Size
Standard handwheel sizes are provided with most gearbox models. Custom handwheel dimensions are also available based on customer requirements for installation space and input torque.
Valve Connection (Flange)
Standard connection dimensions comply with ISO 5211, ISO 5210, and JB 2920-81. Custom flange dimensions are also available to meet specific customer requirements.
Valve Stem Customization
Within the maximum stem capacity of each gearbox model, YOYAGE provides stem nuts and worm gear hubs matched to the customer's valve stem dimensions, including keyed, square bore, trapezoidal thread, and other connection types.
Gearbox Housing & Gear Materials
YOYAGE provides a wide range of material options. Housing materials include standard ductile iron, cast steel (WCB), and special materials such as CF8, CF8M (SS304/316) cast stainless steel, and LCC/LCB/LC1 cast low-temperature steel. Gear materials include special solid bronze worm wheels and bronze-rimmed worm wheels.
Gear Ratio
YOYAGE gearboxes already cover a wide range of standard ratios that meet most application scenarios. For requirements beyond the standard range, additional ratio customization is available subject to minimum order quantities.
Stem Protection Cover
Stem protection covers shield the valve stem from dust, moisture, corrosion, and other external environmental factors. Custom-sized covers are available upon request, with optional additions such as waterproof O-rings, position indicators, and other accessories.
IP Protection Rating
For special waterproof environments, IP68 upgrades are available with enhanced sealing designs.
Coating System
Standard coating suits general indoor and outdoor service. For corrosive environments such as marine, chemical, and coastal installations, higher-grade coating systems — including C3/C5 corrosion categories per ISO 12944 — are available on request.

Dual Ratio Valve Gearbox
Two selectable gear ratios in one gearbox: a fast ratio for low-torque travel and a high ratio for seating torque, designed for large valves that need both speed and output.
Valve Gearbox with Open Indicator
Integrated open position indicator shows valve opening at a glance, suitable for manual operation where valve position must be visible on site.
Valve Gearbox Combination
Two or more gearboxes combined in series to reach higher reduction ratios and output torque, designed for large gate and globe valves beyond single-gearbox range, and suitable for applications requiring special input modes or input directions. Examples include Worm & Worm Combination, Worm & Bevel Combination, and Bevel & Bevel Combination.
Three-Input Valve Gearbox
One gearbox with three input positions, allowing flexible handwheel or actuator mounting direction where installation space is limited. More input options are available, and it can also be combined with other gearboxes to form a complete system.

Please provide the valve type, valve size, required output torque, stem dimensions, and flange connection standard. If some data is not available, the YOYAGE team will review your application conditions and recommend a suitable solution.
Standard customization options — such as flanges, stem connections, handwheels, materials, IP ratings, and coating systems — are available with regular orders. Custom gear ratios beyond the standard range are subject to minimum order quantities. For special customization, minimum order quantities are decided case by case depending on the design.
Every custom order follows a clear process: requirement review, custom design and drawings, drawing review and approval, and then production and inspection. No production starts before the drawings are confirmed. Learn more on the Service page.
